About Elmoné Smith Legal Consultancy
Practical, defined assistance for people who need help understanding and organising a legal matter.
Elmoné Smith Legal Consultancy (ESLC) provides practical, defined assistance to people who need help understanding and organising a legal matter.
ESLC was founded by Elmoné Smith, an admitted attorney and conveyancer. Through ESLC she brings her legal training and experience to research, document review, matter preparation and administrative support.
How ESLC works
Understand what assistance is needed, agree the scope and fees, then provide clear, useful support.
Not every legal matter needs a large mandate from the outset. Some only need focused help: an explanation of a document, an organised file, a timeline of events or a clear list of questions. Others need formal representation or specialist services.
Where something falls outside ESLC’s scope, Elmoné will explain this and you can be directed toward appropriate professional assistance, with your information already organised for the handover.
Support for attorneys
ESLC also supports practising attorneys and small practices that need extra capacity for research, file analysis, chronologies, document review and overflow administration. The instructing attorney keeps the client mandate and professional oversight. Read about attorney support.

Transparent from the first conversation
A clear scope
You know what work has been agreed and what you will receive before it starts.
A known fee
The initial consultation is R500. Further work is quoted separately and needs your approval.
Honest limits
If you need representation or a specialist, you will be told plainly, and helped to prepare.
ESLC provides consultancy and support services. It is not engaged as a practising attorneys’ firm through this website. Court appearances, formal legal representation and work reserved for practising legal practitioners fall outside the ESLC consultancy mandate. Where a matter needs that kind of help, ESLC will say so and can help you prepare for it.
